Assam: Royal Global University now a ‘Tobacco Free Campus’

The pragramme started with an art competition among different school students on the theme “Tobacco and Lung Health”.

Royal Global University has received a Certificate of Appreciation  for being a “TOBACCO FREE CAMPUS” by  the District Tobacco Control Cell, Kamrup Metropolitan District on  31st May 2019 at Sri Sri Madhabdev International Auditorium of Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakhetra on the occasion of World No Tobacco day.

The pragramme started with an art competition among different school students on the theme “Tobacco and Lung Health”, followed by welcome address by Dr. Mridul Bharati Nath, District Nodal officer, District Tobacco Control Cell, Kamrup Metropolitan District.

The programme had a skit, performed by Jagriti Cultural Centre. The speech on ill effect of tobacco was given by Dr Arundhati  Deka, State Nodal officer, State Tobacco Control Cell, Assam. Special Guest Dr. Amol Chandra Kataki, Director, B Baruah Cancer Institute, invited guest, Dr. L R Bishnoi, IPS, ADGP, Assam and invited guest, Ms Chetana Das, Actress, had given a short speech on the theme.

The programme was followed by taking the pledge on No Tobacco Consumption, distribution of Certificate of Appreciation to different institutions by Dr Achyut Baishya, Director of National Health Mission, prize distribution for art competition and vote of thanks.

The programme was attended by students from different schools, colleges, university etc. Around 300 people attended the programme.

Students and faculty from Royal School of Nursing and Royal School of Communications & Media from  Royal Global University  attended the program.
