Itanagar
Arunachal Voluntary Blood Donor Organisation (AVBDO), a unit of Arunachal Vivekananda Yuva Shakti (AVYS), continuing its ‘save life mission’ facilitated a blood donation camp in collaboration with All East Kameng Capital Complex Students’ Association (AEKCCSA) and RKMH in hospital campus here on Sunday that yielded 73 units of blood.
The camp, an initiative of AVBDO president Ramesh Jeke Tatung due to acute shortage of blood in the hospital, was conducted by RKMS staff led by Dr Garima Chauhan and clinical engineer Pratixita Bhattacharjee and supervised by AVBDO/AVYS chief adviser Pradeep Kumar. Tatung and the duo were on their toes to ensure the camp is conducted smoothly.
AEKCCSA members mostly young girls made a long queue to donate blood while it president Tagung Pao said that the list is long with rare blood categories who have put in reserve for emergency need.
AEKCCSA member Sanju Beyong, Ligia Yami, Banya Pertin, Fepung Tao, Tao Yashen, Jimiri Langu, Bagu Yasum (all studying in college) and Onam Tatum (taking MBBS coaching), while donating blood smilingly in almost similar voice said: “God gives life but such noble act could save someone’s life. None should suffer for want of blood for which we are happily donating blood”.
RKMS secretary swami Visheswananda Maharaj lauded AVBDO team for its humanitarian efforts.
It may be recalled that total 120 units were collected in first ever blood donation camp organized by AVBDO and conducted by Dr Chauhan-led team in Assembly complex on September 6 last.
