Arunachal: Ojing Taying murder case- BOWS demands CBI enquiry
Itanagar
The Boriing Oluk Welfare Society (BOWS) youth wing today demanded the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry instead of SIT into the murder case of Late Ojing Taying, for an early crackdown of the case.
Addressing the reporters at Press club, the association informed that the case was handed over to the SIT on 4th April by the State Govt., but it won’t bring any difference in the investigative pattern with the different nomenclature of Police and SIT ”.
Expressing disappointment over inordinate delay in cracking the case, BOWS youth wing, President Elijah Taying stated that its almost 12 months since our brother died and with many assurances and promised; there is no advancement and clear picture of any breakthrough in Lt Taying’s case by the Police earlier and now by the SIT.
Further Taying lamented that the police did not care to inform the family or the union that the case has been passed on to the SIT.
The union stated that many crimes are at rise and its high time for the State to give exemplary punishment for the heinous actions. Or such murder will be happening in every nook and corner of the state.
The union later informed that the Home Minister has assured to look into the matter in a meeting yesterday, however, the union has not set any dateline or ultimatum if their demand is being delayed.
Late Ojing Taying was attacked by two unidentified persons on 10 June 2017 at Niti Vihar in Itanagar and succumbed to his injuries four days later in a hospital in Guwahati.
