Arunachal: Tirap Felicitates State Boxing Medal Winners
District administration honours Tirap’s medal winners from the Jarbom Gamlin State Boxing Championship.

KHONSA- The District Administration of Tirap on April 1 felicitated medal winners from the 5th Jarbom Gamlin State Level Boxing Championship, recognising their achievements at a recent event held in Itanagar.
The championship took place at the Techi Maniya Boxing Club in Ganga Village from March 25 to 28, where athletes from Tirap district secured multiple medals across categories.
Deputy Commissioner of Tirap, Techu Aran, received the medal achievers in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Namneet Singh and District Sports Officer Noah Mongku. He commended the athletes for their performances and acknowledged their contribution in bringing recognition to the district in sports.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner encouraged the young boxers to continue striving for excellence and to act as role models for other youth in the district. He also appreciated the efforts of the team’s coach and manager for their role in guiding the athletes.

Among the medal winners in the sub-junior boys’ category, Hongrang Kongkang secured a gold medal in the 30–33 kg category, while Wangdip Khohoi and Krish Singpho won bronze medals. Tumlan Phuksa earned a silver medal in the 43–46 kg category.

In the youth men’s category, Nahan Sumnya and Sawan Sumpa both secured silver medals in their respective weight divisions. In the sub-junior girls’ category, Jungam Wangsu won a silver medal in the 49–52 kg category.
The team was coached by Aguk Juja, with Amos Jugli serving as the team manager.
Officials stated that such recognition aims to encourage greater participation in sports and to support the development of young athletes in the district.
