Arunachal: Tirap Gets Designated DIPRO After 10 Years
Ponung Tasing assumes charge as District Information and Public Relations Officer in Tirap, filling a position vacant for nearly a decade.

KHONSA— Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh has received a designated District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO) after a gap of nearly a decade, with Ponung Tasing, an Arunachal Pradesh Civil Service (APCS) officer, assuming charge on April 1, 2026.
Tasing joined as the DIPRO at Khonsa and submitted her joining report to Deputy Commissioner of Tirap, Techu Aran, in the presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner Namneet Singh.
The appointment marks the filling of a key administrative position that had remained vacant since 2016. The last designated DIPRO in the district was Denhang Bosai, who was subsequently promoted to Deputy Director in the Information and Public Relations (IPR) Department and transferred to the Directorate of IPR in Naharlagun.

Officials indicated that the presence of a designated DIPRO is expected to strengthen communication between the district administration and the public, particularly in disseminating government information and facilitating media coordination.
The development is seen as a step towards improving information outreach and public engagement in Tirap district, where the absence of a dedicated officer had been noted for several years.
