Arunachal: Tanpho Wangnaw inaugurated Niausa Village Water supply project

The program was attended by HODs, PRI leaders, Officers and People of the Niausa village.

LONGDING- MLA Tanpho Wangnaw 59th Longding Pumao AC inaugurated the Niausa Village water supply project under Jal Jivan Mission at Naiusa village in  Longding District. The project will cover 175 households of  Niausa village.

MLA Tanpho Wangnaw who was the chief guest of the programme appreciated the efforts of the PHED department towards addressing the issue of water scarcity. While addressing the gathering he said that the inauguration of the water supply project is one of the cherished dreams of the villagers that was long overdue- “it is like a dream coming true for the denizens of the village” he added.

“The present Govt is endeavouring hard and is committed to ensure that the issue of water scarcity in the district is resolved soon” Mr Wangnaw said .

Bani Lego, DC Longding  said that with the inauguration of the project it will not just add to the convenience  of the people but also will lead to saving of time and thereby will have a multiplier effect in the development process of the area.

He added that such kind of developmental activities and initiatives should be appreciated and celebrated by all together. “The entire Niausa will be covered under the JJM scheme in a phase wise manner” he added.

Speaking at the occasion Tage Nipa Executive Engineer PHED informed that it was a humongous task as the length of the pumping main is 2.10Km and the water had to be lifted to the height of 503 mtr vertically.

He also said that this was one of the three projects under Jal Jivan Mission which have been completed and the works on other two projects to provide Water Supply at Zatting and Taying Zong is ongoing and will be completed soon in the days to come.

Mr Nipa said that as there is no land compensation under JJM scheme, getting a land for the project is often challenging;  he appreciated the villagers of Niausa for donating the land for the project which helped in completion of the project successfully.

On enquiry Mr Tage Nipa informed that “one of the Major Components of the project is ‘Installation of solar water Pumping system which includes automation for auto pump on/off depending on water level for dry run protection of intake pumps and overflow control”. “The system will also provide a total water delivery report on a daily basis” he added.
