Arunachal: Kayak & Raft Guide, Safety Education Course concludes at Seppa
Altogether 22 trainees attended the course but finally, only 17 of them completed the course.
SEPPA- The Department of Tourism, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh sponsored 20 days Kayak & Raft Guide, Safety Education Course & Assessment concluded today at Pacha Myorang, Seppa in East Kameng District of Arunachal Pradesh.
Altogether 22 trainees attended the course but finally, only 17 of them completed the course. 8 youths were from Subansiri river basin and 9 youths were from Kameng River Basin.
The 20 days course duration was divided into 3 parts , i.e. 8 days raft guide, 8 days kayak guide and 4 days IRF kayak & raft guide, safe education and assessment. The 4 days IRF course were attended by 16 of the trainee youths, 8 each from Kameng and Subansiri river basin.
Out of 16 trainees who attended the IRF Kayak & Raft Guide, safety education course were assessed by the IRF Instructors Tsering Chotak and Anton. The result of the IRF certification course is expected to be declared within few days.
The programme was organized by APSED. The certificate of participation awarded by the Dept. of Tourism, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh were given away to the trainees by Smt. Bengia Manna Sonam, Deputy Director (Tourism), Taluk Sonam DTO Seppa and the IRF Instructors.
In their deliberation, IRF Instructors Chotak and Anton has praised the trainees for their discipline and punctuality. They said that Arunachal Pradesh has immense scope for kayaking and white water rafting as the State has numerous rivers of varying nature.
They assured to promote Arunachal Pradesh as much as they can. Chotak Tsering who is the owner of a company called Wet N Wild Explorations in Ladakh has assured to provide free internship to the trainees in Ladakh so that the trainees get the opportunity to hone their paddling skills to become a good kayak and raft guide in India and abroad.
