Power supply of Lohit, Namsai and Lower Dibang Valley district completely plunge in darkness after collapse of High Tension Tower No. 43 of the 132 KV Line on 16th July in between Pasighat and Pangin.
“Reinstallation of Tower may take at least a week if the work will be started on war footing else may take even fifteen days or more depending on the availability of the materials”, discloses the power department sources.
First of all landslides crumbled live wire due to falling of tree on 13th July and thereafter collapsed of Tower on 16th July.
The power department who owned the line from Hoj in Lower Subansiri to Pasighat in East Siang is striving hard to provide uninterrupted power supply unfortunately in front of nature fury we are futile to do so”, rues the sources.
The Power Dept has launched the restoration work on war footing to bring succor to the consumer of these districts.
Meanwhile, alternative 33 KV line drawing from Rupai Assam for Mahadevpur – Namsai – Tezu – Roing is insufficient to meet the demand during peak hour.”
The 33 KV is simple a sample only filament glows and most of the time suffered serious load shedding. We are undergoing tough time during blistering summer heat. The erratic power scenario has made our life literally awful”, regrets one of the consumers.
