Arunachal:  NCC Combined Annual Training Camp organises weapon display

National Cadets Corps  ( NCC ), 1 Arunachal Battalion conduct first ever Annual Training Camp (ATC)  which is underway from June 18 to 27.

NCC official Group Commander (Tezpur) Col R. B Patil today while attending the weapon display function organised by ITBP Yupia and other programmes at Dera Natung Government College  (DNGC) campus said that NCC plays vital role in instilling discipline, camaraderie and national   sprit in young minds of School and Colleges going students.

He said that 450 cadets from Arunachal Pradesh and Assam are participating the camp  to learn, train and share their experiences and skills.

NCC Camps in Itanagar are a regular feature now, However it is for the first time that a NCC Camp is being held at DNG College Itanagar

A number of activities have been planned for this the duration of the Camp which includes Swachh Bharat awareness , Weapon Training, Firing, Drill Practice, Tent pitching, Lectures on Health Hygiene and other Social issues to instil awareness, bonhomie and Leadership qualities in the Cadets. A dental checkup and a demonstration on disaster response and management is also planned during the camp.

To train these cadets and to conduct various activities teachers from schools and colleges accompanying the cadets alongwith 20 Army instructors are also participating in the camp under the supervision of Camp commandant, Lt Col NK Bishnoi, SM.

He said NCC not only motivates these cadets but also serves as an example to the society through various activities carried out by NCC cadets. Blood donation camps swachh Bharat mission, literacy awareness, conversation of natural resources and other social issues are some of the activities in which the cadets participate round the year.

Military weapons and equipment have always fascinated the young minds as they are good motivating factor to join the defence services. They provide with sense of security and national pride especially for NCC cadets . One such equipment display was held at DNGC Itanagar by ITBP in the on going 27th CATC camp of 1 AP Bn NCC on the occasion of the visit by               All kinds of weapon held by ITBP were on display on the occasion wherein cadet and the college students all had the opportunity to see and handle these weapons  inquisitiveness and enthusiasm was clearly visible on faces of the visitors

The weapon which were displayed on the  occasion were by  31 ITBP were5.56MM INSAS Rifle, 5.56 MM INSAS LMG, 9 MM Carbine Machine Gun,  AK 47Assault Rifle, 9 MM Pistol, 7.62 MM Sniffer Rifle (SSG-69), 7.62 MM MMG,81MM Mortar,  51 MM Mortar,  84 MM CGRL,   7.62 MM SLR

Commanding Officer Lt Col NK Bishnoi, SM while said that another battalion of NCC is being established at Tawang and state government is cooperating while another unit will be establish at Pasighat and NCC is also expanding and there are around 3000 cadets are getting training and would expand its horizon in moulding the youth for a discipline life with a patriotism in mind.
