Arunachal: Khakee Vibes Café Opened at Pasighat IRBn

New welfare and recreational facilities inaugurated at 5th IRBn aim to improve morale and living conditions of police personnel.

PASIGHAT- Advisor to the Home and Education Minister and Roing MLA, Mutchu Mithi, on April 1 inaugurated a series of welfare and infrastructure facilities for police personnel at the 5th Indian Reserve Battalion (IRBn) headquarters in Gumin Nagar, Pasighat.

The newly inaugurated facilities include the Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB) Subsidiary Bhandar and the Khakee Vibes Café, both aimed at improving the wellbeing and morale of police personnel. Earlier in the day, Mithi also inaugurated a newly constructed Reserve Police Line barrack at the Police Lines in Pasighat.

The event was attended by senior police officials, including Inspector General of Police (Operations), Apur Bitin, IPS; IGP (Central Range), Hibu Tamang, IPS; Superintendent of Police, East Siang, Pankaj Lamba; and Commandant of 5th IRBn, Garima Singh, along with other officers and personnel.

Addressing the gathering, Mithi emphasised the state government’s commitment to enhancing the welfare of police personnel through improved infrastructure and support systems. He noted that such initiatives contribute to boosting efficiency, morale, and overall wellbeing within the force.

The Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar system, a welfare initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is designed to provide essential commodities at subsidised rates. Officials stated that the establishment of the subsidiary bhandar within the battalion premises would improve accessibility and convenience for personnel.

The Khakee Vibes Café has been developed as a dedicated recreational space, offering a setting for relaxation and informal interaction among personnel. Authorities indicated that such spaces can help foster camaraderie and strengthen esprit de corps within the force.

Commandant Garima Singh informed that the facilities were developed with active participation from members of the battalion, who contributed to construction, woodwork, and design elements. She acknowledged the efforts of the team and thanked the dignitary for recognising their contributions.

The newly constructed barrack is intended to improve accommodation standards for police personnel, with a focus on better living conditions, hygiene, and comfort.

Officials described the initiatives as part of broader efforts to strengthen institutional support for police personnel serving in demanding conditions.
