Tawang: 200 saplings planted on the second day of Van Mahotsav

“Tree means water, water means oxygen and without oxygen there is no life” said DFO Tawang, Sange Tsering speaking to the students of Tawang Public School(TPS) on the second day of tree plantation on 3rd july 2019.
The week long van mahotsav started with plantation in and around Tawang Army Brigade headquarters on 2nd July 2019.
The plantation drive organised in collaboration with Environmental protection society (EPS) an NGO which has been working in Tawang for last many years towards protection of environment.
On the second day of week long plantation drive, Nima Drema Wife of Tsering Tashi, MLA Tawang also participated along with the senior officers from District administration, police , public leaders and students of Tawang public school.
More than 200 saplings of various plant species were planted near TPS School campus informed Jambey Dondu, President EPS. DFO Tawang Sange Tsering and President EPS Jambey Dondu has appealed the people to plant at least one tree in their surroundings during this Van mahotsava, and also requested each and every citizen to take care of the tree that has been planted, till it grows to a good height. Let us handover a better and pollution free society to our coming generation they added.
