New Mabira arson case: Adi Mishing Baane Kebang demands for time-bound justice

The house resolved to intensify their demands for early arrest of all the culprits involved in torching of 18 houses with a Musup and a shop.

In a joint coordination cum consultative meeting of Adi Mishing Baane Kebang held at Ruksin  Guest House today in connection with recent arson case of Namsai against Adi community, a unanimous decision was taken by Adi Mishing organizations of Arunachal Pradesh and Assam to continue their fight for justice to victims of New Mabira (Kahinalah) whose houses with community hall (Musup) was burnt down by the miscreant.

The house resolved to intensify their demands for early arrest of all the culprits involved in torching of 18 houses with a Musup and a shop. The AMBK demanded for early re-construction of houses and community hall burnt down while performing Adi rituals. The house also resolved to demand adequate compensation of the loses and damages at the rate of Rs. 10,00,000 (Ten Lakhs) each to the victims. The house also resolved to demand for immediate dismissal of concocted & fabricated rioting case registered against Adis in connection with the Namsai arson case under Namsai Police Station. The house also wants written assurance from state government for not to let similar incident repeat in near future at Namsai.

Talking to this scribe at the sideline of the consultative meeting, AMBK cum ABK Secretary General, Okom Yosung said that, a series of democratic movements will taken up across Arunachal and Assam in case the government do not take up appropriate measure as per their demand for justice to Adi communities of New Mabira where atrocities were meted out to the families of many Adi communities by torching their houses and community hall.

The consultative meeting was being attended by the members of AMBK, AdiSU, TMPK, MMK, DSU and block level committees of Adi Mishing communities under the Chairmanship of AMBK President, Raju Medok. During the meeting a committee was also formed under the Chairmanship of Austeem Muang who will spearhead the democratic movement in case the state government fails to redress the injustice meted out to the Adi communities at New Mabira village (Kahinalah) under Namsai district.
