Arunachal: NIT Director calls on the Governor
Put in a sincere effort in creating conducive academic ambience in the campus: Governor to NIT Director.

The Director, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Arunachal Pradesh, Prof P. Mohanta, called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 18th September 2018. The Director, NIT, who has recently taken over the charge of the Institute briefed the Governor about the institution.
The Governor advised the new Director to put in concerted effort in creating conducive academic ambience in the campus. He said that NIT, Arunachal Pradesh must shine in all respect of academic excellence. There must be joint effort from the Director, members of the faculty and students to make it the best technical institution in the North-eastern Region and the country. Its ranking in all India reckoning must improve and students’ placement must increase in this session.
The Governor emphasized on discipline, punctuality, innovation amongst the students and faculty. The students must be encouraged and motivated to think ‘out of the box’. He also stressed on cleanliness in the institution.
The Director, NIT assured the Governor of marked improvement in the NIT in time to come.
Commissioner to Governor Surya Prakash, Joint Secretary to Governor Smt Mamata Riba Naksang and Registrar, NIT, Prof. M. Shome were also present in the meeting.
