Historic victory of Jummum Ete Deori has drawn lots of excitement hopes and aspiration in the public of Likang circle of Namsai district. Deori first time elected as MLA 48th Likang Assembly Constituency by a huge margin of 5,274 votes defeating Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Takam Sanjoy.
“I contested first time and won by huge margin. The voters of Likang circle bestowed faith on my leadership. The love, affection and hope conferred on me would never waste in vain and I will prove to stand myself to work for the overall development of Likang circle”, she promises.
When asked about her priority in the area, she prefers to give education, employment, health, flood control as top priority and to pursue all the ongoing developmental work.
Jummum is the daughter – in – law of Omem Moyong Deori first woman president of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee and MP of Rajya Sabha from 1984 to 1990.
She was given BJP ticket from 48th Likang Assembly Constituency after veteran legislator Dy CM Chowna Mein decided to contest from 46thChowkham Assembly Constituency represented by Mein’s elder brother C T Mein.
The Dy CM, who won from Lekang seat in Namsai district for past five consecutive terms since 1995, had to leave his citadel due to Permanent Residence Certificate issue which had turned violent.
