Arunachal: Cataract Blindness Backlog Free Campaign underway at Longding
The campaign was flagged off by Bani Lego, Deputy Commissioner Longding on 17/11/2023 in presence of DMO Dr Worar Taku and Dr Kato Lego(Nodal Officer, CBBF) and other medical staff.
LONGDING- A Cataract Blindness Backlog Free(CBBF) Campaign under the Pradhan Mantri Netra Jyoti Abhiyan 2022-23 is underway here in Longding district.
The campaign was flagged off by Bani Lego, Deputy Commissioner Longding on 17/11/2023 in presence of DMO Dr Worar Taku and Dr Kato Lego(Nodal Officer, CBBF) and other medical staff.
As a part of the campaign, 8 ophthalmic assistants, led by Ophthalmic Surgeon Dr. CHOWDIM TAYANG & Dr. YAPA GUHA from Tezu and Ziro Hospital respectively had carried out a door-to-door survey from 17th to 21st November 2023.
The team is screening operable cataract cases and visited all the villages in the district. A total of 158 individuals were identified. Subsequently, patient lifting and pre-operative check-up were done on 23/11/2023 at DH Longding by the consulting team. An aggregate of 54 patients were admitted for the Surgery.
MLA 59th Longding-Pumao constituency, Tanpho Wangnaw had inaugurated the Surgical drive on 24/11/2023 and dedicated the campaign to the people of Longding district. He interacted and communicated with all the patients and complimented the team for their tireless efforts.
The Surgery will take place on 24th & 25th November. Patient discharge and dropping to be done thereafter.
