Itanagar: Burglary case solved after 11 month, one arrested

The Capital Police have apprehended one habitual criminal identified as , Nabam Topu, aged 25 in connection to eleven months old burglary case. During the investigation, Police found his involvement in three more theft cases.
Capital Complex SP, Tumme Amo informed Arunachal24 that ” on October 10 last year, one Taba Alla of Nirjuli lodged a complaint at Nirjuli PS alleging that some unknown miscreants had stolen away cash amounting to Rs. 1,00,000/- (one lakh), some Local ornaments, a mobile handset and other items from his residenc” e.
Accordingly, a case was registered u/s 380 IPC. The investigation was pending due to non detection of accused despite putting all possible efforts, SP added.
He informed that he reviewed the case on August 30, 2019 and directed Insp Tadu Hassang, OC PS NRJ and investigating Officer ASI Kenter Tacha to get another call details, SP said.
“Call details were examined and found that the stolen mobile was being used by one lady. A police team led ASI Kenter Tacha of Nirjuli PS trapped and apprehended the lady. She was interrogated wherein she disclosed that the mobile handset was given to her by the accused Nabam Tagin resident of Village-1, Nirjuli in lieu of his debt he owed to her for alcohol she sold to him,” added SP.
The police team then conducted raid at various suspicious places and finally arrested the accused Nabam Topu.
“The mobile handset and other items like ATMs, etc have been recovered and seized,” he added.
“During interrogation, he has confessed his involvement and claimed that he has exhausted the stolen money. The case is being charge sheeted u/s 457/380 IPC,” informed SP.
