 “The biggest challenge is to convince yourself” Rima Das at Royal Global University

Ms. Rima Das gained limelight when she was nominated for her Oscar nominated film ‘Village Rockstar’ and there was no looking back.

Oscar Nominee, Ms. Rima Das visited Royal Global University for an interactive session with the students on the changing trends and the future of films. She was felicitated by the Vice Chancellor of RGU, Prof. Dr. SP Singh and Registrar of RGU, Angira Mimani, along with Florence Handique Rabha, HOD RSCOM who also graced the event.

In a brief interactive session Ms. Rima Das gave a lucid description of her passion for world cinema and film making, as she grew up in a society of “film watching” more than film making and hence, making it a mare challenging experience for her.

She believes that whatever resides within oneself is what reflects in one’s work, so does her films. She planned “Village Rock star” was aimed to cater to the international audience and not a conventional commercial movie.

India needs to grow in the areas of film education and that she aims to change the society by influencing the Indian youth to make films and the underlying power of art.

Ms. Rima Das gained limelight when she was nominated for her Oscar nominated film ‘Village Rockstar’ and there was no looking back. ‘Bulbul Can Sing’ now enters another league of being a film with a difference.
