Swaraj, who was for the Bharatiya Janata Party’s most prominent woman face, did not contest the recently held Lok Sabha elections in which the party won a massive majority. Last November, she had announced she would not contest the general elections.
Tears Are Rolling Down My Cheeks,
As I'm Typing This.
Still Can't Believe That #SushmaSwaraj Ji Is No More.
She Was Among Few Leaders Whom I Admire So Much.
Her Loss Is Big Blow To BJP And India. Om Shanti pic.twitter.com/5DmBc7L0lp— Narendra Modi fan (@narendramodi177) August 6, 2019
Her last Twitter post was about thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the government’s move on Kashmir stating that she was waiting for this day in her lifetime.
प्रधान मंत्री जी – आपका हार्दिक अभिनन्दन. मैं अपने जीवन में इस दिन को देखने की प्रतीक्षा कर रही थी. @narendramodi ji – Thank you Prime Minister. Thank you very much. I was waiting to see this day in my lifetime.

Swaraj served as the Minister of External Affairs of India from 26 May 2014 to 30 May 2019. She was elected seven times as a member of parliament and three times as a member of the legislative assembly.
An epitome of integrity, efficiency and enormous commitment to work, #SushmaSwaraj ji was an extremely pious soul.
What a coincidence she wrote this evening she was waiting for the historic day to see abrogation of #Article370, and breathed her last after history was created. pic.twitter.com/mjpIrdsq9H

Earlier in the day, Sushma Swaraj greeted Rajya Sabha members who voted in favour of the government’s resolution to scrap Article 370 of the Constitution.
I’m shocked to hear about the demise of Sushma Swaraj Ji, an extraordinary political leader, a gifted orator & an exceptional Parliamentarian, with friendships across party lines.
My condolences to her family in this hour of grief.
May her soul rest in peace.
Om Shanti 🙏
