Rajnath and Kiren Assured All Possible Assistance to Flood Hit Arunachal

Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh and MOS Home Kiren Rijiju assured all possible assistance to the Flood hit state Arunachal Pradesh at the earliest. Arunachal chief minister Pema met Union Minister of Home affairs Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju today and sought their immediate attention and assistance in sending a central team to assess the flood situation and the consequent damages caused to property so that relief and rehabilitation process could be put into action at the earliest.

Pema apprised that the state is currently reeling under a situation of severe flood due to the monsoon rains. The eastern districts of Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit, Namsai and Changlang were worst effected and more than 26 villages are in critical condition with damages of crop and property.

Deeply concerned over trails of devastation caused by the incessant rain triggered flood in Arunchal Pradesh, Pema Khandu has been constantly seeking the union government’s support in overcoming the situation.

 “The NDRF and District Administration have already swung into action in these districts with the aim to mitigate and ensure there is no loss of human lives and further loss of property. Deputy Chief Minister has already rushed back from Delhi to the flood zone and is monitoring the situation on the ground”, he added further while enclosing the preliminary damage reports of the concern Deputy Commissioners. CM was accompanied by Chief Secretary Smt. Shakuntala Gamlin during the two different meetings.
