Parents Day Celebrated at Don Bosco School, Kheti

Parliamentary Secretary for Geology and Mining Tirong Aboh graced Parents’ Day at Don Bosco School, Kheti on 12th November amidst huge gathering of Parents, Public leaders from 56-Khonsa West A/C, teaching staff and children of DBS Kheti.

Addressing the huge gathering  Parliamentary Secretary (Geology and Mining) Tirong Aboh appreciated Principal of DBS Kheti   Fr. Jose Nellisseril for inviting him to grace the occasion as Chief Guest adding that parents are the main pillar of the children as such parents must extend fullest cooperation with the school  authority and teachers for better understanding between school authority and parents.  Aboh appealed students of DBS Kheti in particular and students of Tirap – Changlang – Longding – Namsai, Tezu and Anjaw districts to stay away from bad food habit like addicts with Drugs and Opium which may leads to destroy future generation stating that parents must strictly keep vigil on their children to avoid indulging with drugs, opium and other unlawful activities.  Parl.Secretary further urged the parents to adapt cash crops  cultivation under horticulture and agriculture sectors instead of continuing traditional shifting cultivation system as frequent clearance of jungle for shifting cultivation and deforestation creates water scarcity problem and ecological imbalance adding that soil of Tirap District is very suitable for wet cultivation in plan area, terrace cultivation in hilly area, he said that  large cardamom, large chilly, orange, pineapple, banana, tea plantation in plan area etc, through which earning can be able to support children education. Earlier, the Parl. Secretary inaugurated Arts and Science Exhibitions from Class-II to Class-X Topics on 1) Global Warming,  2. Volcanic eruption, and 3. Magnetic field effect where the Chief Guest Tirong Aboh  interacted with the children and appreciated the children for their excellent performances. As a token of love Parliamentary Secretary paid Rs. 2 lakh to the school authority for procurement of winter wear for the students of Don Bosco School, Kheti.

Guest of honour Col. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, CMO Assam Rifles said that children are future of family and nation, hence children must utilize their youthful energy in positive way adding that the foot step of parents will be following by the children and therefore parents shouldn’t misguide their children in unlawful activities.

Special Guest Nk. Sbdr Dr.Marina Johnson of 16 Assam Rifles briefed about health and hygiene adding that health and hygiene are equally important and connected with human life. She threw lights on nutrition food regulate blood circulation, environmental health plays important role in human life as such cleanliness in both inside and outside the home is utmost important stating that unhygienic water causes typhoid, malaria and dysentery. She urged all the parents and children to live a hygiene life to avoid various water borne diseases.

Earlier, in his welcomed address the Principal of Don Bosco School, Kheti Fr. Jose Nellisseril on behalf of DBS Kheti expressed his gratefulness to Chief Guest and Parliamentary Secretary Geology and Mining) Tirong Aboh for sparing his valuable time to attend the programme. A colourful songs and dances mark the day long  programme and Prizes to the winners of Arts and Science exhibition was awarded by Chief Guest and Parl.Secy Tirong Aboh.
