Less than 100 nos. of SHG availed bank credit linkages in Arunachal Pradesh- NABARD

In Arunachal Pradesh less than 100 nos. of SHG availed bank credit linkages and all are converted into Non Performing Assets- said Dr. Gopa Kumaran Nair, General Manager, NABARD.

NABARD has been focusing on group based activities such as social activities, bank credit linkages etc, said Dr. Gopa Kumaran Nair, General Manager, NABARD, in an interaction programme with the farmers and self help groups held at conference hall of R.K. Mossang Memorial Society on 23rd August’2019.

Addressing the the SHGs, Farmers’ Club & NaRM-Gs members, he informed the participants  that ” in Arunachal Pradesh less than 100 nos. of SHG groups availed bank credit linkages and all are converted into Non Performing Assets (NPA)”.

He had requested all the members of the SHGs, Farmers’ club & NaRM-Gs to form a Farmers’ Producers Organization and also request to share the plan to improve the harvest of the farmers.

Reji Varghese Assistant General Manager, requested the farmers and SHG members to educate themselves so that  each and every members shall be aware about the programme that govt. is taking up for the benefits of the farmers. Initiatives should be taken by SHG members itself only then they can add the value addition for their harvested crops, he said.

Earlier in a welcome address, Kamal Roy, District Development Manager, NABARD Changlang,  explained briefly about the Farmers’ Producers Organization and its benefits that the farmers can avail after forming the organization viz; procuring agricultural equipments at discounted rates, selling their harvested crops at good rates.

He requested the youth members in the SHGs, Farmer’s Club & NaRM-Gs to come forward and take the initiatives in forming the organization. He told that NABARD is always ready to provide help for setting up Rural Mart & Rural Hat etc. He reiterates that capacity building will always be provided by NABARD in collaboration with R.K. Mossang Memorial Society.

Lastly, vote of thanks was given by Miss Komoli Mosang, Chairperson, She thanks Dr. Gopa Kumaran and team for visiting in Jairampur circle and interacted  with SHGs, Farmers’ club & NaRM-Gs. She also thank SHGs, Farmers’ club & NaRM-Gs members present in the meeting, in very short time they were informed about today’s programme and they had actively participated in a large numbers.
