Kokrajhar- Police seizes Trucks carrying cough syrup bottles, Cattle

The  Kokrajhar police on Monday seized a four nos of trucks from NH-31, carrying Corex cough syrup bottles concealed by hardware materials, and cattle . The truck was on the way to Agartal from Kolkata. The driver and helper of the truck also apprehended.

Total 300 boxes each containing 160 cough syrup bottles (MRP: Rs.96/- per bottle) with market value of Rs. 46.08 Lakh have been seized. The black market value is around Rs. 1 Crore. In this regard a case is being registered (Ref. Bogribari P.S Case No.  61/17 U/S 22 (c) N.D.P.S. Act) and investigation is going on.

 Yet in another incident, 70 (seventy) nos. of cattle in three trucks bearing have been caught in the early morning on Tuesday, by Bogribari Police Station team led by SDPO, Parbatjhora. The trucks were coming from West Bengal via Chagolia Gate.

 It is suspected that they are a part of the inter-state cattle theft racket that uses to transport cattle illegally to the neighbouring states and Bangladesh also. In this connection,  six persons have been arrested. A case is being registered (Ref. Bogribari P.S Case No. 62/17 US 420/379/411 IPC, R/W Sec. 11 of Protection of Cruelty to Animals Act) and follow up action is going on.
