Khandu Review the preparation for Statehood Day

Chief Minister Pema Khandu today reviewed the preparations made for the celebration of 31st Statehood Day Celebrations to be held at Indira Gandhi Park.

During his review visit to the IG Park, he inspected the preparations for main stage and the arrangement being made for seating capacity of 7600 person, giving all the needed instructions to the concerned secretaries and senior officials. The officials briefed the CM about all the security arrangements being made including facilities for toilet and drinking water.

The CM was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, Chief Secretary Shakuntala Gamlin, Principal Secretary Satya Gopal, Capital complex DC Sandeep Kumar Singh and others.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will grace the occasion as Chief Guest for the 31st Statehood Day celebration.

Briefing the Chief Minister about the salient features of this year’s statehood day celebration, the officials informed that the celebration will include flower show, where orchids and flowers from the state and all over the country will be showcased. Also next to flower show will be a book show where Khandu later inspected the arrangements being made.

The Chief Minister reviewed the progress on preparations being made for adventure and sports show. The officials briefed the CM that the show will include bungee jumping, hot air balloon, etc where the visitors will have to pay a nominal fee for the ride.

The Festival of Arunachal, which coincides with the statehood day celebration will have cultural extravaganza, food stalls, exhibitions stalls put up by various government departments. Also this year, the Wancho house will be the main venue for VIP dining, which is being constructed in the festival ground. The Chief Minister inspected all these preparations being made.

The CM further inspected the arrangements being made for Krishi Mela, and the site where the replica of the dwelling places of Yaks and Mithuns with real animals will be on display.

Khandu concluded his visit by reviewing the progress of the Arunachal Tea House and the Hanger where short movies called for competition by the IPR department will be screened. The Arunachal Tea House will showcase all the local tea products and also from across the country.
