Khandu Interacts with Bureaucrats

Moving out of the way to build confidence and create rapport with top bureaucrats of the state, Chief Minister Pema Khandu today held an informal interaction session with them at his offices here this evening.

“It is you who run the government and give service to the people. Politicians including the Chief Minister will come and go but you will be serving the people for a lifetime until you retire,” Khandu said in his opening remarks.

Informing that he will be meeting the Prime Minister soon, the Chief Minister requested the officers to apprise him of the needs of their respective departments.

“You have been serving in the government for long. You know the challenges and you know the potentials of the state. Therefore, you are the right people to guide me and my colleagues and take the state towards development in a just and inclusive manner,” he observed.

Reiterating his mantra of ‘Team Arunachal’, the Chief Minister called for strict adherence to guidelines while implementing all flagship programmes of the state and central governments besides all other projects.

“We have to work as Team Arunachal. Without your support and cooperation no government can live up to its commitments and people’s expectations,” he said.

Pointing that unemployment is one of the biggest challenges facing the state today, Khandu urged the bureaucrats to utilize their experience and knowledge to curb the menace and utilize the youth force in a constructive manner.

Addressing local officers he said, “We will live and die here. We have to think of our next generation. We have to equip them with all the skills and create a world full of opportunities.”

All present in the interaction including the Principal Secretary, PCCF, Commissioners, Secretaries and Joint Secretaries thanked the Chief Minister for the impromptu interactive session and appreciated the gesture.

With their vast experience of heading various departments and working under various governments, the top officials shared their experiences and put in their suggestions for smooth and successful functioning of the government.

The Chief Minister assured that all suggestions have been taken note of and the government will make the best use of these. He also endorsed the idea of having similar interactions from time to time.
