This assurance came when Business head  of Vodafone Assam & North East, Alok Verma called on the Chief Minister, accompanied by its HR head Arif Khan.

The Chief Minister was informed about Itanagar being one of the highest data consumption markets in the country.

In view of the growing data consumers, it was felt that the government would consider providing infrastructural support to the private telecom companies to meet the demands of the internet users.

Also to Vodafone’s plan for expansion towards the remote places, the state government considered to provide means for power supply to the mobile towers for its operations.
