Jomde Kena passes away, Khandu expresses shock

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed shock and grief over the sad demise of his Cabinet colleague Jomde Kena, who breathed his last this evening following prolonged illness.

Khandu, who is in the national capital for an official meeting, conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and the people, especially those of 28 Likabali Assembly constituency whom he represented in the Legislative Assembly.

Late Jomde Kena was the Minister of Health and Family Welfare. Earlier, he also held the post of Deputy Speaker of the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.

In his condolence message, Khandu said, “Words cannot describe the pain you go through when you lose a dear friend, a colleague and a guide who was always around to support, advise and show the way ahead despite hard times. The sudden demise of Jomde Kena, who as a member of Team Arunachal had just started to bring reforms in the health department, is a bolt from nowhere.”

“In his demise, our state has lost a seasoned politician and I have lost an elder brother, who was more than a friend,” Khandu said.

“On behalf of the people, I convey my deep condolences to the members of his family, friends and well wishers. I pray for his soul to rest in eternal peace,” the message added.
