Heavy wind on Wednesday lashed the capital complex causing power outages in various areas of the twin capital city Itanagar and Naharlagun.
Till the filling of this report , we couldn’t collect the report from other areas, because of failure of mobile network. most of the areas of the district are under darkness.
Massive damages to houses were reported from various sectors under capital complex and far from area of the district, due to falling of branches from trees causing grave inconvenience to the residents especially commuters.
At Mowb-II area, the wind caused a huge branch of a pine tree near banquet hall came crashing on a shop. However at the moment of crash luckily the shop was closed and there was no one inside.
No casualty was reported so far, but reportedly the wind peeled off rooftops of various houses in sector and colonies under township.
Meanwhile when contacted the fire and emergency services office, an official affirmed that all personnel’s have been put on alert and directed to take necessary precautionary steps to meet any eventuality.
“ We are monitoring the situation ,” the official added.
