Itanagar: CoSAAP announces pen & tools down strike from October 11

CoSAAP announced series of protest including pen and tools down strike in support of their demands.

The Confederation of Service Association of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSAAP) has announced to launch phase wise Pen & tools down strike throughout the state starting from October 11 to press for the acceptance of its charted of pending demands before the state government.

“The first phase will be followed by 4-day long protest from 23-26 October and indefinite strike from November 8 on wards, if the government fails to address our few long demands within the stipulated time,” stated CoSAAP President, Pate Marik.

Addressing a press conference here at  Arunachal Press Club today, Marik said “we are compelled to take up democratic movement due to the iresponsive attitude of government towards our genuine demands for months and years together.

He said , our demands, which are  related to allowances for government employees such as house rent, tough location allowance, TA/DA rules, non-practising allowances and children education allowance, transport allowance, non teaching allowance, allowance of all category of nurses, uniform allowance for all uniform personnel  etc, have been neglected for a long time.

“If the state government continued with its indifferent attitude towards our demands then we will launch indefinite pen & tools down protest. The onus will lie exclusively on the government,” Marik warned.

Over the Issue of compulsory NOC (No objection certificate) for promotion, MACP, Deputation & Retirement of government employees, Marik reiterated that the rule should be made mandatory for all citizens without categorisation and targeting the only Govt. employees only or otherwise it must be withdrawn completely.

Marik said that the concerned authority must list out, then verify and punished those encroached the government properties individually but without harassing other innocent employees.

He said that around ninety thousand employees are expected to take part in the democratic movement against the state government. He appeal the students and other organisation and like minded to support their democratic movement for genuine demand.

Secretary General Gonya Riba, Spokesperson Tage Grayu also address the media and demanded that the state government must take care of their employees or otherwise we would also not tolerate any more in such way.
