APPSU appreciated the state government for making functioning of the Government Law college at Jote and the academic session to began this year.
The All Popum Poma Students Union (APPSU) today demanded renaming of Government Law college at Jote in name of former Minister Late T C Teli.
In a three point memorandum submitted to Minister Education, Cultural Affairs etc today APPSU appreciated the state government for making functioning of the Government Law college at Jote and the academic session to began this year.
‘It was much awaited that the Law College Jote will start functioning from this academic session and is a welcome step and appreciated the government of Arunachal Pradesh at the same time the union on behalf of students community and general public of the area reminded the state government that the land for the establishment of Law college was donated free of cost by the local in hope of getting some special reservation (seat) for the students of the locality’.
But notification issued by the department of Higher & Technical Education dated June 20 for conducting of Law entrance test (LET) does not reflect any such reservation have deeply saddened. The memorandum said.
The union urge upon the Minister concern for seat reservation for the students of the locality from the current session.
Former Minister and social worker of the area Late T C Teli who have represented the state assembly twice have worked for all round development and social economic upliftment of the area need to be given his due recognition for his contribution for the welfare fo the people of the area, 14 Doimukh assembly constituency and state in general by renaming the Government Law College in his name.
Further the union also demanded direct recruitment of C & D grade jobs to the land donors of government Law college, Jote as a compensation as the entire land for the purpose have been donated free of cost. The memorandum added.
