Indefinite hunger strike by APACSU,  AYSU called off after intervene of Felix

The indefinite hunger strike was last for six days demanding for removal for voting rights to the settlers  of Ex-Assam rifles  at Vijoynagar.

The ongoing indefinite hunger strike by Arunachal Pradesh Anti Corruption Students Union (APACSU) and All Yobin Students Union (AYSU) supported by Yobin Welfare Society (YWS) today called off after intervention of Panchayati Raj and Home Minister Bamang Felix.

The indefinite hunger strike was last for six days demanding for removal for voting rights to the settlers  of Ex-Assam rifles  at Vijoynagar.

The hunger strike was withdrawn after a meeting of delegation of APACSU, AYSU, YWS with Home & Panchayati Raj Minister Bamang Felix at his office at Assembly complex today in presence of Secretary RD & Panchayat Govind Jaiswal,  Special Secretary RD & Panchayat Peele Ete, Director Panchayat T Pada, Capital Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh Malik, Capital SP Tumme Amo and others.

Home Minister listen to the problem highlighted by three organization which led to democratic movement in Changlang district and later in state capital.

He inform that the name of Ex-army personnel’s of Assam rifles were included in voter list way back in seventies and since then they were in the voter list. No organization nor any such issue was brought to me since I am the minister concern of Pancahayti Raj for months together.

Every problem has a solution’ and there are laid down system and guidelines and process for inclusion or deletion  of names in voter list which need to followed and I have requested them to go through it,  He said.

The government will intervene where and when required for the people. He said.

He said that “I have asked them to submit a representation to the government so that the state government can look into the matter. Felix added.

Capital SP Tumme Amo inform that they were on hunger strike since Nov 27 with their demand. Today there was discussion with Home & Panchayat Raj Minister. They have listen to Minster and Minister also suggested them to go to their back home place at Vijoynagar to attend the claims and objection which are going on in state. If there is any problem government may intervene. Amo said.

He further inform that the agitators have  called off the ongoing strike and tomorrow they will submit a representation to the state government.

APACSU President Tana Ganesh Tara while talking to media said that we have called off our hunger strike on the assurance of the Home & Panchayat Raj Minster. We will not let the issue die but will continue and hope that the state government intervene into the matter properly under the leadership of Pema Khandu and Bamang Felix for a complete solution.

AYSU President Ngwazosa Yobin while thanking the state government said that the state government has understand our genuine problem. Tomorrow we will submit a presentation and hope that the assurance given by Home & Panchayati Raj Minister worked out for a resolution. He also thanks all those who stood behind them during the indefinite hunger strike.

YWS President Lucheso Yobin said that we have meet Home Minister and raised our issue and hope for a positive result. We hope that the problem is resolves soon by the state government in the greater interest of the people.

Later a team of officers led by Capital SP Tumme Amo, EAC D Gara, CO Bitu Kri, SDPO Kamdam Sikkom visited the agitators at Tennis court and give them juice and fruits and the ongoing hunger strike was declared called off by the leaders and protesters.
