End SEBA debate for larger interest of students: Urkhao Gwra Brahma
Kokrajhar
Former Rajya Sabha MP from Assam-Urkhao Gwra Brahma on Thursday said for the larger interest of the generations of today and society of tomorrow, the present crisis sponsored by the government over the SEBA’s result magic of HSLC should be ended by essential clarifications from all concerned authorities without further delay.
Brahma said the way how ruthlessly the matter was presented in the assembly regarding how pass percentage had been enhanced from 22pc to 65 pc or more than that, just to show the standard of education is heightened, is really a shocking. After being publicised the fact the credibility and ability of thousands of students that had passed out during the period of 2001 to 2016 have been ridiculed and put under trial, he said adding that the government should know this fact also, hundreds of students out of those have already excelled in the medical, engineering, management and higher education of technical and non technical discipline with their talents and ability.
He said their credibility of being excellent student cannot be questioned like that by the government because that was their talent which made them to be admitted in excellent institutions but one must agree with the fact that SEBA’s performance is not up-to the mark at the present and a great reform is needed.
Brahma said it was the same education minister who praised the SEBA for being the best body of the country in conducting examinations very recently. The same minister took the whole credit of increase of pass percentage in the HSLC during the congress regime and despite that fact why he could not discover this sensational fact of result of magic earlier?, he questioned.
He said-“I am concerned with the revelation of the same in such pompous way which has already affected psychologies of the students and guardians for the conclusion of present crisis let all chief ministers, education ministers, SEBA chairmen and some related authorities of entire fifteen years indicted time period sit together in one studio, reply to the public with clarifications, justifications properly and bring to an end of the ugly debate”.
He also said the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal needed to intervene the crisis to halt such a superfluous debate and initiate healthy process and if anything to be done with the SEBA including necessary inquiries and action for all anomalies then let it be the priority of the government through system but fate and future of the students should not be used in such ruthless way.
