Due to Heavy Rain, Labour Barrack collapse in Anjaw

Due to heavy rain, a labour barrack was hit by a clump of bamboo grove and one man lost his life while another man escaped with minor injuries at Hayuliang in Anjaw district on Saturday.

ADC B Tawsik accompanied by CO Hayuliang Dr Tojum Ete and  police has  Visited the site as soon as they received information of the incident.

The road between Khupa and Hayuliang also got blocked by landslide due to which the teams had to walk on foot for 5 km to reach the accident site.

Deputy  Commissioner, Mamata Riba, announced ex gratia relief as per government guidelines and directed ADC  Hayuliang to coordinate with next of kin of deceased for further necessary assistance to them in this hour of grief. Immediate relief of Rs 30,000 was handed over to next of kin of the deceased by Additional Deputy Commissioner  B Tawsik.

A H Khan who suffered minor injuries during the incident is being treated at CHC Hayulaing. Body of the deceased will be handed over to the family of the deceased after completion of post mortem at CHC Hayulaing.

It was further informed that as per the rainfall data recorded by BRTF, rains have crossed a record of 700 mm at Hayuliang, Hawai and beyond.
