Dirang- Dalai Lama inaugurates Thupsung Dhargye Ling Monastery

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama inaugurated the Thupsung Dhargye Ling Monastery, located at Dirang, 45 km from Bomdila on 6th April 2017. The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Shri P.B. Acharya and State’s First Lady Smt Kavita Acharya along with State Chief Minister Shri Pema Khandu attended the inaugural function.

Showering his blessings, His Holiness advised that people and Lamas for proper and maximum utilization of the Monastery. It should be a centre for learning for all. He advised to conduct debate on every aspect for healthy growth and advancement. There must be lots of activities, he emphasised.

His Holiness felicitated the people of Dirang and nearby villages for the monastery, which is one of its kind. Along with Lamas, the common people are also taught Buddhist culture, traditions and values.

Welcoming His Holiness to the State, the Governor said that the spiritual spirit and compassion that His Holiness disseminate will translate into positive energy and take the State towards path of eternal peace and development.

You are the living God and Saint. Your presence has strengthened and inspired all, the Governor said, while expressing his thoughts.

The Governor urged His Holiness to guide the achievers, young people and believers for an equitable advancement of every section of the society.

The Speaker of State Legislative Assembly, Er. T.N. Thongdok and local MLA cum Parliamentary Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) Shri Phurpa Tsering also spoke on the occasion.

Advisor to Chief Minister Shri Japu Deru, Chief Secretary Smt Shakuntala Doley Gamlin, former minister Sri Tsering Gyumey and Shri R.K. Khrimey were present on the occasion. A presentation of dialectic debate by some laities, was presented on the occasion.
