DG BRO on Three Days Visit to Northeast Region

The Director General of Border Roads Organisation  Lt.Gen S K Srivastava has arrived Tezpur on Wednesday on a three day visit. After assuming the appointment of DGBR on 1st Feb this year, this is his first visit to North East region.

During this visit he will visit the areas under project Vartak, which happens to be the oldest project of Border Roads.  The General Officer will visit western region of Arunachal Pradesh where most of the works of the Project is located. He will visit the sectors both aerially and by road. During the visit program he is slotted to flag start the Jang by-pass construction works and oversee the works on international border, particularly in Tawang sector.

Brig J S Ishar, the Chief Engineer of Project Vartak and other senior officers will accompany the General Officer during the visit.

The DGBR was given a briefing by Brig Ishar, Chief Engineer, after introduction of the officers  at Project Vartak yesterday.

On Thursday morning the DGBR interacted with Troops at Project Vartak . The DGBR met GOC,4 Corps and discussed pertinent issues pertaining to BRO before taking off for sector visit . Due to bad weather the helicopter returned from halfway and the DG and other senior officers proceeded by Road from Tezpur.
