CM Pema Khandu Visited Itanagar Biological Park

With the aim to develop and to give a face-lift to various parks in the state capital, Chief Minister Pema Khandu today rolled out several measures to boost tourist attraction to these sites.

The Chief Minister visited the ‘Itanagar Biological Park’, accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary for Forest CT Mein and senior officials from the forest department.

The Chief Minister took stock of the living condition of the animals kept in the Zoo. He also got update about the number of animals found that included nearly 200 animals and six big cats.

The CM moved round the Zoo and inspected the facilities and the road condition. Talking to Zoo officials, he advised them to take good care of the animals and to provide them with proper diet. The CM assured all timely release of funds for maintenance of Zoo and for foods for the animal.

For proper maintenance of Gekar Sinyi or the Ganga Lake, the Chief Minister during his interaction with department officials decided to handover all components of the lake to forest department. He opined that management of the lake by forest department, which has adequate resources and through a single department would be more efficient.

On Indira Gandhi Park, the Chief Minister asked the forest department to depute expert agencies for beatification of the park. He asked them to depute good architect for landscaping, for construction of jogging trail along the park boundary, stressing on the need for providing citizens with a decent place for outdoor and sports activities.
