Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary Chow Zingnu Namchoom visited the on-going twenty days RSS Officer Training Camp (OTC) being held at Khunlai School in Manmaw village and interacted with the functionaries and trainees.
While interacting with, Sunil Mohanty, RSS Prant Pramukh (State Organising Secretary) and Arun Kumar, RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sha-Sampark Pramukh (All India Assistant Public Relations Incharge) Mein informed them about the richness of the Tai Khamti script and literature.
Mein called for joint efforts to promote the indigenous cultures and Pali language which is the foundation of the many manuscripts available with the community.
Arun Kumar proposed for digitisation of manuscripts while appreciating the organic initiative of the state government.
“I am just a facilitator and will extend help in important endeavours” Mein said while appreciating the proposal for digitisation of manuscripts. He also underscored the need for strengthening institutions for promotion of culture.
The OTC which commenced on 1 May has about fifty six trainees and ten teachers with many expert resource persons imparting knowledge on national and international topics. Yoga,martial arts, PT and drills are the activities of the camp.
