The Border Security Force ( BSF ), Meghalaya Frontier organized a cultural evening “Shaam-E-Ghazal” at St. Anthony collage Shillong to entertain the lively audience of Shillong in continuation of it’s “Golden Jubilee Year celebration”.
However the cultural programme began with the welcome song followed by classical as well as folk dances like Bihu, but the International fame Gazal singer Md Imran Khan made the evening a sweet treat by the singing some melodious gazals. He also sang on demand by the lively audience.
Md Imran Khan belongs to a traditional Musical family (Bhindi Bazar Gharana) where music is not just a casual interest but has also produced/created legendary artist such as Lata Mangeskar, Ustad Chajju Khan Sahab, Ustad Nazir Khan Sahab, Ustad Aman Ali Khan Sahab, Ustad Fida Ali Khan Sahab, Ustad Mumtaz Ali Khan Sahab, Ustad Shaban Khan Sahab, Ustad Taj Ahmed Khan Sahab, and Siraj Khan. Md Imran Khan is the maternal grandson of Ustad Aman Ali Khan Sahab and Ustad Fida Ali Khan Sahab. Md Imran Khan is also the Grandson of Cello Maestro Ali Hasan Khan Sahab(Muradabad Gharana). He has performed abroad in Nepal Bangladesh and UAE through ICCR.
Prizes were distributed to the performers by the Chief Guest and Inspector General BSF frontier, Meghalaya. On the occasion Mr Sudesh Kumar, IPS IG BSF, Meghalaya Ftr informed that the BSF has organized a series of cultural programmes at IIM Shillong, NEHU, St. Anthony College, NEIGRIHMS, St. Edmund’s College, Lady Keane College, Shillong on the eve of BSF Golden Jubilee Year-2015. The Chief guest also expressed his happiness on the heart touching programme.
Huge audience with special guest Shri S. K. Jain, IPS, Spl. DG of Police (SB/CID), Meghalaya Police and local dignitaries along with BSF Officers, Subordinate Officers, Jawans and their families enjoyed the occasion of the concluded ceremony of BSF’s “Golden Jubilee Year” celebration.
