BSF nabbed 2 Indian Liquor Smugglers

The BSF troops deployed at Baburambil, West Garo Hills district of Meghalaya nabbed two Indian liquor smugglers with 36 bottles of liquor(IMFL) on International Border while being smuggled from India to Bangladesh. They have been identified as Manik Chand Sangma (26 yrs) and Amrush Ch. Marak (26 yrs),  resident of South Garo Hills district.

BSF troops  also seized one motor cycle Bajaj Discover bearing Reg. No. ML-08D-6902. Similar seizure of liquor was also made by the BSF troops deployed at Bholaganj where 62 only bottles of liquor were seized at International Border.

The liquor is banned in Bangladesh thus it fetches three fold prices there after being smuggled. The BSF has intensified its extra vigil along International Border keeping in view of liquor smuggling. The Border Security Force has intensified its operations on the Indo-Bangladesh Border to prevent such illegal transporting of liquor along Internationals Border in Meghalaya.

Since last year BSF has seized huge quantity of alcohol at border. The sentinels of border have been seized 20,178 bottles worth more than 15 lacs of liquor (IMFL)being smuggled to Bangladesh and also apprehended 03 Bangladeshi and 13 Indian liquor smugglers.

Apprehended persons and seized items handed over to police station Barengapara for further legal action.
