Royal School of Fine Arts (RSFA) is organising a week long Art Exhibition in Gallery Artist’s Guild, Chandmari, Guwahati, Assam from 17-22 June 2019. The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) S.P.Singh, Vice Chancellor, Royal Global University (RGU) in the presence of Ar.Anita P.Y, Dean, RSFA, faculty and students. The Art exhibition is open for public view from 2PM-7PM.

Prof. (Dr.) S.P.Singh inaugurating the first exhibition of RSFA expressed his exhilaration at the two years of hard work, perseverance and tenacity exerted by the students under the able guidance of faculty through the different art forms in a public forum. The innate magical beauty of each child focused on their expressions with clarity through the paintings (mixed media and creative), drawings, printmaking (woodcut), Assam manuscript painting and sculptures.

He enthused each student to break all art barriers and excel as did Leonardo Da Vinci, Michalangelo, Pablo Picasso, Raja Ravi Varma, Rabindranath Tagore, M.F.Hussain, etc, in whose art conceptual analysis, experiments with procedure, innovation with material, and cultural engagement, all of which made art very interesting to the layman. He expressed his pride that the dedicated faculty drawn from NIT-Silchar, Shantiniketan, etc., is creating excellent professionals for posterity.

He further stated that each student artist while holding the brush or making pottery often wonders how the art produced will be perceived by the audience, will it be sold or will it ever be seen in a gallery? RGU having organized this public exhibition where art enthusiasts can book and buy the paintings, is in itself a new and exciting way to evolve as an artist.  He hoped students will depict contemporary art and bring in a social change where the painter and the buyer can motivate the society to scale newer heights. He also hoped that the art produced will capture the age which will become a referral in future.
