Arunachal: Toko Yaram and Likha Ekha resign from Congress

In a political development during the election time Toko Yaram and Likha Ekha resigned  from Congress.

The Congress in the state has lost another one of its female leaders with Toko Yaram’s resignation on Sunday evening owing to the denial of party ticket to the Yachuli assembly constituency.

Yaram, who was the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee general secretary, said she was leaving the party because of the denial of party ticket.

An active member of the Congress for nearly two decades, Yaram said she had applied for the party ticket twice before this time and was denied the tickets then as well.

She informed that she had spoken with the APCC chief, but was not given a specific answer on the reasons for denying her off the party ticket.

“I have sacrificed a lot for the party and but my efforts were not valued,” she said and informed that she would contest the election with or without the Congress ticket.

In an another political development Likha Ekha ,  Congress city General Secretary and 16 Yachuli Block Congress Committee (BCC) President today resigned from all post of the party and also from the primary membership.

Alleging the party of not respecting the sentiments and hard labour of sincere party leader and workers and the denial of party ticket to the hard core party cadre.

Ekha resigned against the attitude of party heads for denial of party ticket to party candidate to contest the assembly election 2019.
