Arunachal: State’s first Innovation Hub & Space Education centre ready for it’s inauguration

One of the most important infrastructure and much required Innovation Hub and Space Education centre is ready for it’s inauguration on Saturday by Minister Land Management, WCD , Environment & Forest, SJETA Nabam Rebia.

The 1st Innovation Hub and space education centre (planetarium) of state is located just near the state science centre at IG Park, in Itanagar was completed in all respect and was waiting for quite some time for it formal opening.

The infrastructure have been constructed and developed by Arunachal Pradesh state council of Science & Technology (APSCS&T) and National council of Science Museum (NCSM) Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Kolkatta and funded by the central government.

The centre shall facilitate and serve as springboards for new ideas and innovation and thus helping the society and economy to face future challenges and meet rising aspirations of the growing population. Specifically, embedding such creative pedagogies in science education through ‘Innovation Hubs’ would have potential to retain talent in modern science.

The Innovation Hub have Discovery Hall, Innovation Resource Centre and Hall of Fame, Innovation Lab, Design Studio, Space Education Centre (Planetarium) with main objective to promote innovation, creativity and engagement in science, to foster problem solving ability and project based learning,to provide hands on/practical learning and engagement in the process of science, technology and innovation, to excite the young minds about innovation for better future and to help the society and economy to face future challenges in  science & technology.

The function shall also be attended by National Council of Science Museum (NCSM)  Director General A D Choudury and Itanagar local MLA Techi Kaso.

On the occasion the dignitaries will also inaugurate the 18th All India Annual Conference of Heads of Science Centre/Museum at DK State convention which shall continue till December 10.

The theme of the national conference is  “Aligning Science Museums/Centres activity with National Science &Technology Promotion Policy and its Agenda”

Secretary Science & Technology Gaken Ete and Director cum Member Secretary APSCS&T C.D. Mungyak will also remain present in the function.
