Arunachal: Silluk and Borguli village shows determination for plastic free and cleaned society

Marking the 150th birth anniversary of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday, women of Silluk and Borguli village also organised several programme for plastic free and cleaned society.

Marking the 150th birth anniversary of father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi on Wednesday, the Silluk village women group under Mebo Sub-Division also launched a drive against use of drugs, opium, bhang, IMFL and playing of gambling (Housie) in this village which once happened to be one of the most prospering village of the state.

The village women of Silluk carried out a rally on the day shouting slogans against drugs, opium, bhang, IMFL and present time rampantly played Housie gambling. The village women are doing this initiative to revive the lost glory of the village which once happened to have produced many officers in the state government.

Similar programme was also organized and initiated by Borguli village women group on Wednesday under the same Mebo Sub-Division who cleaned the village surroundings and collected all the wastes including drive to do away plastics. Under the theme-Clean India, fit India, the village women also participated in a fitness run after the cleanliness drive.
