Arunachal: R.K. Mossang Memorial Society celebrates its Silver Jubilee

R.K. Mossang Memorial Society celebrates its Silver Jubilee at Elementary Residential School, Jairampur on 23rd January’2019. In presence of various head of departments, public leaders, members, well wishers and students of the schools being run by R.K. Mossang Memorial Society.

The Chief Guest of the programme was T. Mossang, Principal Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Jairampur.

This NGO was formed in the year 1993 and was named after Lt. R.K. Mossang, who was social leader. He took initiatives in development of education, environment, culture, health, hygiene of society of the people of Tangsa tribe. People of this tribe inhabited in the areas near indo Myanmar border of Arunachal Pradesh. Being isolated by hilly terrains, people were not enlightened.

Miss Komoli Mosang was also a Minister of the state, Chaired the NGO taking A.K. Choudhury as the Secretary along with other members of was Miss Mossang who started the mission of giving education along with giving guidance for economic upliftment to the rural massen who are yet to be reached.

It started with a primary school and a weaving cum training centre at Jairampur and since then got actively involved in the works, said Komoli Mosang.  As on today, the NGO established and running several schools. Beside that the NGO Implementing 2 targeted Intervention programme on HIV/AIDS in Changlang dist, Formed 108 nos. of Self Help Group with bank linkage in Tirap and Changlang dist,  Became NGO partner with NERCORMP a programme of DoNER, Launched 10 nos. of farmer club at Bordumsa & Renuk circle, Established 2 rural mart in Jairampur & Namphai-I sponsored by NABARD.

Welcome speech  was given by Lemkhum Mossang, Member, R.K. Mossang Memorial Society he express his gratitude towards all the  well wishers, members ad NGO workers for supporting and running this NGO. Since 1993 he thank all the cultural troop in the programme.

A.K. Choudhury, Secretary  of  RKMMS, explained the brief journey of R.K. Mossang Memorial Society in the programme how this NGO is formed and running various schemes and project successfully.

Various cultural troops performed cultural dances in this occasion. The programme end with vote of thanks by Miss Komoli Mosang, Chairperson and followed by lunch.
