Replete with deep pits and pot holes, the stretch of Trans Arunachal Highway (TAH) road from Papu Nallah to Yupia, and from Doimukh-Hoj Potin has led to many accidents.
Strewn with upto one feet ditches, if the bad condition of the road here is a resulting in jerking of knees to the -two-wheeler drivers, the risk of four wheelers toppling in these ditches run high.
Expressing concern and shock on the condition of road here , the local resident and commuters appeal the Highway administration to repair and maintain the road in the greater interest of the public service and convenience.
The commuters said the stretch got damaged every year but the maintenance and repairing is nil or at snail speed. Several huge pot holes have been created and is very terrible to travel. In some case there are risk at several places of getting accident or head on collide with other vehicle.
One youth leader at Hoj said that due to heavy downpour in subsequent years of monsoon the road repairing hardly been done and the condition of the road is being deteriorating day by day.
Even after a few minutes rainfall, the road got muddy and we can’t drive the vehicle, said one women driver who was coming from Yazali along with her children.
One two wheeler rider said that the road is very shortest route to reach our village in Lower Subansiri but if it is repaired we may feel happy with the state government.
A student leader said whom to blame, it is actually the responsibility of Highway department but we think they are not shouldering their responsibility properly.
The commuters of East Kameng, Kurung Kumey, Kra Daadi, Kamle, Upper Subansiri and other parts of state need to be in proper condition of this road . He appeal the state government to take necessary action in this regard for repairing of the said stretch of road.
