Arunachal: Police patrolling party rescued two minors, nabbed one trafficker

Police patrolling party of capital police rescued two minor children from trafficking, nabbed one trafficker.

Two minors were reportedly rescued from the clutches of child traffickers from Ganga market area on Thursday by the police patrolling party.

When the police enquired  upon suspicion about the children,  one of the traffickers named Md Babu Ali fled the spot and the second trafficker named M Shakdemal Ali, who got caught.

During the investigation ,  Shakdemal revealed that ” he worked for Md Babu Ali and they had come to Itanagar to sell the children to an unknown woman.

Later, the Itanagar police station called the Childline,  Itanagar and Child Welfare Committee, ICC, who took the children to Oju Welfare Association-run Child Care Institution at Naharlagun for providing them temporary shelter.

On being enquired, one of the rescued children, Sadam Ali, aged 3 years, told the CWC that the younger one named, Mini Ali is his brother and said that he hails from Hago Basti/Dorapil, Balipara in Sonitpur district of Assam.

On Friday, the CWC, ICC Chairperson requested its counterpart in Sonitpur  to look into the matter and help trace their parents. CWC, ICC Chairperson also apprised SP Sonitpur about the matter.

 SP M Harsha Vardhan informed that an FIR No. 260/18 u/s 370 IPC has been filed under 370 IPC and SEC 81 JJ Act.

 “enhanced patrolling measures are showing the results, Patrolling staff have done extremely commendable job and are being rewarded”, Harshvardhan said.

He further said that they are pursuing the leads in the case to unearth the entire modus operandi.
