Arunachal: Police crack Rs 12-lakh robbery, 3 arrested, cash recovered

In a major breakthrough, Capital police cracked a Rs 12 lakh robbery case and arrested three persons, recovered cash, ornaments.

Capital Police arrested three person in connection with burglary of cash and other valuable items from a private resident of an engineer at B Sector here.

Capital SP M Hrasha Vardhan while briefing the media at his office chamber at Ganga said that one FIR was received at Itanagar Police Station Itanagar  on October 8  by  one engineer  Rana Tok  of B Sector of burglary of cash of around 12 lakhs and valuable ornaments from his private resident. Based on the FIR a case Vide Itanagar PS Case NO-281/18,U/S-454/380 IPC dtd.08/10/18  was registered.

After registering the case a team was constituted  led by SI Govind Arangham and investigation began.  One Dilip Kharia a (domestic helper of complainant) was arrested on  October 9 on the basis of CCTV footage.

Another  accused  Karim Khan  ( he was earlier driver of complainant ) identified on analysing the CCTV footages was found involvement in the crime.

The team led by Arangham on  October 13   apprehended one Salim Khan, younger brother of Karim Khan) was examined who was a private driver of an MLA.

On October 14 the team reached Tinsukia, searched Karim Khan at hotels with the help of Tinsukia police but  could not found and the team moved to Khonsa ( Tirap district )- the born and brought up place of accused Karim Khan.  Evidences of link between Karim Khan & Salim Khan in mobile Phone by photos  was found  on 15th October which they click together on October 7-9 at Gawahati to Shillong road when they fled after committing the crime.

On examination of one Rahim Khan (elder brother of both  Karim & Salim) the  police team on October 15 night reached Lekhapani PS and searched house of absconder  Karim Khan (located at Lalpahar, Tipong, Lekhapani PS, Tinsukia along with Lekhapani police  and found few ornaments.

On October 17 arrested  Salim Khan on finding that he helped his brother Karim Khan on October 5 (date of occurrence) by leaving him up to Banderdewa in his vehicle after burglary and received Rs.2.5 lakhs and on  Oct’6  he also went to Guwahati where they met each other and went to Shillong in a KTM Bike and enjoyed up to October 9 and came back to Lalpahar/Tipong together on 10 October. He said.

On October 20 on the tip of information  received from a detainee at Changlang and Khonsa PS conveyed  to team leader  SI Arangham from Changlang Police SI S.Wangsu , and SI S Chena from Khonsa PS on probable hideout of the main accused Rahim Khan who was later  arrested by Tezu police led by L/SI R.Jugli and party from T.Chai colony along  with a Hyundai Verna car and brought on transit remand to Itanagar on 23rd.  and produced in the court and remanded to police custody.

The team of Itanagar police was led by SI Arangham ,Ct.Ajay Kumar, Ct.Utpal Mili and H/C. G.Padu (driver) under the guidance of OC PS Itanagar(Inspr.T.Bage),SDPO(Dy SP K.Sikom) have performed their duty very systematically with the help of technical surveillance and taken the help of human intelligence and able to solve the case. Their dedication  and sincerity have resulted in cracking the case and recovered almost materials of the case.

Till today an amount of Rupees 2.5 lakhs have been found kept in the SB account of Salim Khan at SBI and Allahabad Bank in Itanagar.

The Hyundai Verna Car bearing registration No- AS23G/6382 and KTM Bike bearing registration NO- AS 01 DV/3134  and a Samsung mobile worth 57,000 have been seized from their possession.

Vardhan appeal the denizens to alert in such cases and reiterated that all the staffs working at resident who so ever in which capacity no matter but need to be informed to the local police so that in any such incident they are immediately traced and arrested.

He further said that capital police is for your service and support in maintaining law and order and traffic management to remain in peace.
