Arunachal Police busted Gang of four in Director of Audit & Pension attack case

Four member gang busted, in Director of Audit & Pension, Naharlagun attack case, 1 AK series rifle, 3 hand grande and other live ammunition recovered

Arunachal Pradesh Police have busted  the sensational case of attempted extortion  in the office of the Directorate of Audit & Pension, Naharlagun which held on  22nd May 2017 in broad day light at gun point, informed Deputy Inspector General of Police (West & HQ) Tusar Taba .

Looking into the seriousness of the case and the crime, several team were constituted and deployed at various location of the capital complex and security checking were intensified and police was in high alert Tusar said.

The team comprise of  SDPO Itanagar Techi Hanyir, Naharlagun PS OC Inspector N Riba, SI G Basar, SI Balkar Singh, Banderdewa PS OC SI K Yangfo,  Nirjuli PS OC SI INya Ete, SI Techi Nega and massive manhunt continued day and night 24 x 7 and finally the team led by Banderdewa PS OC K Yangfo  arrested the main accused who barged into the office of Director of Audit & Pension office on the very faithful day at D sector, Naharlagun one Chelo  John from 5/1 area of Banderdewa on May 24 2017.

The accused during the interrogation disclosed the names of other persons who were involved in the crime and therefore the names and identity of the accused were not given to media because the investigation and manhunt was on, Tusar disclosed.

In the second breakthrough in the case when the team lead by Nirjuli SI Techi Nega arrested Sonam Para @ Sunday Para from E Sector, Naharlagun on May 25. The third accused Sime Kilo was arrested with coordinated efforts of West Siang Superintendent of Police Mari Riba, Likabali PS OC Rima Taipodia & SI Tali Kaye from Kena Village on May 26th  while fourth accused Rima Bodo also succumbed to pressure from all corner and was also arrested.

A total of four accused was so far arrested and the gang was busted. The four accused , Chelo John aged around 24 of Chelo Village of Koloriang,  Sonam Para @ Sunday Para, 24 years approximately of Para Village, Seppa, Sime Kilo aged around 35 years of Kilo Village under Chyang tajo circle, and  Rima Bodo aged around 30 years of Bodo Village under Chyang Tajo circle and all three from East Kameng district while Chelo John from Kurung Kumey District of state Tusar informed.

There have been several previous case of these accused involved in earlier and we are also carefully observing these past cases which may give us some more clue of if any other are also involved but at present this gang is busted and so far we have recovered from the scene was 1 AK-56 series rifle, 1 AK series rifle magazine, 21 (7.62) live round, 1 hand grenade while in interrogation we have been able to recover 2 hand grenade, 5 (7.62) live rounds, 1 (.22) live round, 5 live round of small arms  he added.

Tusar said that it was reveal during the intonation that accused person have planned to exhort money for procurement of arms and explosive from across the border (Assam), after procurement arms they prepared videos posing with arms demanding random. They use to circulate these video and made extortion calls to a number of persons demanding random or extortion money and also to create panic among general public if it was not checked in time.

When asked whether they were acting a gang Tusar said that other detail are awaited and we cannot say at present and investigation are on and we will later on go for that, but at present it can be said that it was a gang of four but even though we rules out that any others are also involved in this group.

Tusar said that still we have lot to investigate about the procurement of arms and other details which may led us to get some more clues. For the time being all the accused are under police custody for further investigation.
