Arunachal: ‘Pay Back to Society Group’ Mission concludes

  ‘Pay Back to Society Group’ returned from their motivational tour of the District schools and colleges of Arunachal Pradesh.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) attended the debriefing of the ‘Pay Back to Society Group’ mission on their return from their motivational tour of the District schools and colleges, at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on 2nd December 2018.

The Mission, which was launched by him on 25th November 2018 concluded today. Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor complimented the officers, which included 20 officers from Army, 4 from Navy and 3 from Air Force, all of whom are native of Arunachal Pradesh, for their service and pinned the ‘Team Arunachal’ lapel pin on the chest of each individual officers.

Major General Jarken Gamlin, who led the mission, while briefing about the mission informed that 83 schools and 10 colleges in different parts of the State were covered with enthusiastic participation of more than 17,660 students.

He said that the officers were divided into eight groups, which conducted motivational talks in Aalo, Kamba, Likabali, Pasight, Roing, Yingkion, Tezu, Namsai, Changlang, Khonsa, Longding, Bomdila, Tawang, Ziro, Raga, Daporijo, Hawai, Itanagar and Yupia.

There were larger number of girl participants and recalled that there were numerous requests for NCC and Scouts and Guides units in the educational institutions.

Thanking the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister for their support to the mission, the Governor said that it is a result of joint effort by the State Government, the three Chiefs of the Indian Armed Forces and the individual Arunachali officers.

He said that the mission has to be repeated in different doable and practical format. He felt that the possibility of the Deputy Directors of School Education, who are well experienced could act as the nodal officers for future such programmes.

The Governor advised the officers to be good soldier, sailor and air warrior and not to get into Rat Race for rank. He said that the social contribution of the officers will always be welcome by the State Government.

Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister thanked the officers and expressed their gratefulness to the Governor for the initiative, which is his brainchild. They assured budgetary provisions for future such missions.
