Arunachal: NPP will go alone in Assembly, Parliament Elections- Conrad Sangma

NPP will go alone in Assembly as well as parliamentary election in state and region- Conrad Sangma .

The Chief Minister of Meghalaya and National People’s Party (NPP) National President Conrad Sangma  today said that the NPP will go alone in the ensuing Parliamentary and Assembly election simultaneously to be held in Arunachal Pradesh and NE region alongwith others states of country.

He was addressing the reporters at the sideline of state executive meeting of National Peoples party, Arunachal Pradesh state unit here at a city hotel today.

Sangma said that we are part of North East Democratic Alliance and due to its ideology for NE various MLA and leaders have joined us. We have consent and agreement together and joined together and are part of NEDA in Meghalaya while NPP is supporting in Manipur, Nagaland and in Arunachal Pradesh and working along with the Pema khandu government.

He said that the  leaders of NPP from NE have gathered here to attend the state executive meeting and disused various issue with regard to the ensuing parliamentary as well as assembly election. NPP may contest all the 24 seats of parliamentary constituency of the region and will go alone in all assembly constituency of Arunachal Pradesh.

There are many issues for discussion to be kept in the agenda and priority will be focus in education development, SSA teachers issue, agriculture development and value addition, infrastructure development, Information technology, social issue like health, social welfare will also be focused. The Act East policy will also be taken up for the development of the region and to increase the relationship with the neighbouring countries for trade and commerce and economic development.

The NEDA is a economic platform for development of the region, cultural relation, protection of region and collection of different political party and not for seat sharing, we are having alliance in Arunachal Pradesh too if there is any issue would be resolved.

On citizenship amendment bill (CAB) he said that we have made very clear and not in favour of the amendment of citizenship bill and we have given clear message on the issue. He said even last six month back when the JPC come to Shillong then only we have already taken up a resolution opposing the bill and we shall continue to do so. Sangma said.

Sangma said that apart of normal political issue we may take up few other issue which are important for public will be discussed in the state executive meeting today.

Senior leaders of NPP from Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland were also president, including Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Joy Kumar Yumnam,  Meghalaya Home Minister  James K Sangma,  Meghalaya Deputy Speaker T D Shira, NPP leader in Arunachal Assembly Tanga Byaling,  Deputy leader Nikh Kamin, state President Gicho Kabak, MLA from Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Meghalaya were present on the occasion.

Apart of senior leaders, MLA Tirong Aboh, Dikto Yekar, Mutchu Mithi, NPP Youth Front President Bage Kamsi, NPP Student wing prescient Gepu Don, women wing President Repeh Bagra among district and frontal wings executive members from district and state unit take part in the state executive meeting.
