Arunachal: NPP demands re-poll at Taba and Nampe polling station

A group of NPP MLA candidate lead by former Home Minister Kumar Waii submitted a memorandum to Chief Election officers  (CEO) Arunachal Pradesh today and demanded re-poll at 24-Taba and 28-Nampe polling station under 21-Koloriang ST Assembly Constituency of Kurung Kumey district.

Speaking to media person here today Kumar waii said that in this regard’s NPP’s candidate for 21-Koloriang ST Assembly Constituency Pani Taram has already submitted a representation to DEO-Kurung Kumey on May 1, 2019 with many evidences including videos, audios and documents of how people were threatened, roads/bridges were cut-off as well as deceased voted while many were prevented to reach the polling station respectively.

We reiterate the need to restore the democratic rights of the constituents of the said assembly constituency. It is very unfortunate that the savage treatment meted out to the voters has not only cast a blot on the electioneering processes but it has also cheated people of its fundamental rights. He added. So proper inquiry is require on the matter and provide justice to the voters who’s fundamental right has been snatched away.

Arunachal Pradesh is a peaceful state but during election messages like murder, firing, booth capturing , threatening to voter etc is spreading all over the world. He appeal the state government and CEO to stop these,  threat culture , Money Culture , Gun Culture. And if this culture is on then the future of Arunachal will be dark.

Requesting not to delay to giving justice to the people of area he said that in the arrival of the observer(s) for Koloriang under Kurung Kumey is a form of injustice which should be avoided any further.

Demanding early sending of Observer for enquiry and scrutiny of EVMs earliest announced and held re poll at said polling station and they also demanded re-poll should be held strictly under the vigil of adequate paramilitary forces, central observers and micro-observer and the polling station be sensitised well ahead of the polling day.

He further appeal all leaders of the area not to support any violence activities and let the peace prevail for a peaceful coexistence and communal harmony among the citizens of the area as was earlier before election.

NPP candidate from Liromoba Jarpum Gamlin, Aju Khunjuju of Bomdila, Pkanga Bage of Dumporijo, Er. Tarh Hari from Sagalee were also present in the press conference.
